Mitchell’s Nursery’s 2025 Poinsettia Trials to Feature More Than 75 Varieties

Poinsettias are unfolding in the Piedmont Triad. This fall, Mitchell’s Nursery and Greenhouse is hosting its 2025 Poinsettia Trials, featuring diverse holiday colors on display. This year’s event promises to bring the holiday magic, showcasing 77 varieties of poinsettias, totaling more than 12,000 individual plants, creating an ocean of color. This will be the second year for the poinsettia display in the new 9,216-square-foot state-of-the-art greenhouse.

The trials officially begin on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, when the elaborate displays will be fully set up and ready for viewing. Mitchell’s Nursery and Greenhouse‘s normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. We will be open for two Sunday events to encourage voting for the trials, on Sunday, Nov. 30, and Sunday, Dec. 7, from 12 p.m.–3 p.m. This is a prime opportunity to observe the performance and characteristics of each variety under real-world growing conditions. Attendees are encouraged to participate in the voting process, which provides valuable feedback to growers and breeders for years to come.
The voting period for the Poinsettia Trials will run through Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, providing ample time for consideration.
