Marc Verdel of Battlefield Farms Named Head Grower of the Year at Cultivate’19

Marc Verdel of Battlefield Farms in Rapidan, VA, was named Head Grower of the Year at Greenhouse Grower’s Medal of Excellence awards program, held July 15 at Cultivate’19 in Columbus, OH. Verdel was also recognized with an award for Excellence In Production.
“It has been a pleasure working with the Battlefield Farms team for many years, and I know we’ll have more great years together,” said Verdel in accepting the award.
Verdel is always interested in trialing the newest plant introductions to find where he can gain speed in production, reduce chemical costs, and decrease shrink while looking for the best finished plant. He also visits offshore production farms to gain a better understanding of what is being done to his inbound seed and unrooted plant material, and he looks for ideas to implement in the greenhouses upon his return.
