Learning Opportunity: Building Better Workplace Safety in Horticulture

From AmericanHort and Hortica, registration is now open for “Workplace Safety in Horticulture,” the first session of an AmericanHort safety video series that provides “a practical look at what it means to maintain a safe workplace in horticultural operations,” with teachings applicable to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA.

What to Expect from the ‘Workplace Safety in Horticulture’ Session

With featured speaker Zach Bruce, Director of Safety Services at Hortica, the “Workplace Safety in Horticulture” session will cover practical and research-based frameworks for better employee engagement, and how to identify the root of employee engagement and disengagement. Other key topics include:

  • Effective employee training
  • Recognizing hazards in the workplace
  • Supervisor responsibilities

“Workplace Safety in Horticulture” will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. This session will be followed by more short, on-demand safety micro-training that will feature insights from industry partners and leaders.
