Keep reading for some of our favorite responses to the question “What is your top prediction for the greenhouse industry in 2026?”

  • With the current economy it seems like sales may be flat for 2026, although we are being optimistic as always.
  • Continuous improvements!
  • More natives and more sustainable practices.
  • We will contract as an industry for the next several years.
  • Everything relates to weather. Nice weather means great sales, bad weather means &@$(%& sales.
  • I do believe multifunctional robots will start finding their way into our industry. Single use automation will soon be obsolete.
  • Great year, further consolidation
  • More e-commerce
  • Certain types of formally popular plants will continue to decline.
  • Upbeat for us!
  • Sales to landscape contractors will increase.
  • Vegetables/edibles will be very popular due to the economy
  • It will be a struggle with this President’s economy to stay even
  • I hope it will be a good year for all greenhouse growers!
  • Probably more consolidation of operations
  • Hopefully an increase in vegetable plants. We need to better market to the consumer.
  • Anticipation of outside influences, team discussions and well thought-out options and actions.
  • Struggles with supply costs, i.e. effect of tariffs
  • Continued downward trend due to increased electric and heating costs
  • Home gardens/container gardens will increase but with more information available; people will be growing more of their own. Beautiful spaces, whether in or out, will still be a priority but will be created more by repurposing and bartering.
