2025 Greenhouse Training Online Continues with ‘Costing and Profitability’

‘Costing & Profitability’ starts on Aug. 11, 2025, and is the next course in the Greenhouse Training Online series from the University of Florida IFAS Extension (UF/IFAS).  This advanced-level course is designed for commercial growers with experience or well-trained/upper university-level training.

‘Costing & Profitability’ Course Topics

Course participants will learn about:

  • Allocating overhead
  • Crop enterprise budgets
  • Interpreting income statements
  • Labor cost and efficiency
  • Price and profitability
  • ROI in technologies
  • Seasonality, space, and shrinkage

‘Costing & Profitability’ Schedule and Registration

The ‘Costing & Profitability’ course runs from Aug. 11 to Sept. 5, 2025. Available in English and Spanish, all course material is completely online and available at any time of the day. It includes pre-recorded videos, quizzes, and an interactive discussion board with Dr. Charlie Hall of Texas A&M University and Dr. Paul Fisher from the University of Florida IFAS Extension. Two new modules are activated each week during the course, for a total of eight learning modules. Instruction is at each participant’s own pace and time within the four weeks of the course, with a typical time commitment of about six hours per week.
