2025 Greenhouse Training Online Continues with ‘Nutrient Management 1’

‘Nutrient Management 1’ starts on July 7, 2025, and is the next 2025 course in the Greenhouse Training Online series from the University of Florida IFAS Extension (UF/IFAS). This intermediate-level course is designed for those with some training or entry-level university experience in production, technical, or sales roles in the greenhouse or nursery industry.

‘Nutrient Management 1’ Course Topics

Course participants will learn:

  • How to identify and prevent pH and EC-related problems.
  • How to interpret a fertilizer label.
  • How to list the essential plant nutrients needed for plant growth.
  • How to perform substrate-pH and electrical conductivity (EC) tests.
  • How to perform substrate porosity and wettability tests.
  • How to understand the fundamentals of managing pH and fertilizer levels.

‘Nutrient Management 1’ Schedule and Registration

The ‘Nutrient Management 1’ course runs from July 7 to August 1, 2025. Available in English and Spanish, all course material is completely online and available at any time of the day. It includes pre-recorded videos, quizzes, and an interactive discussion board with Ph.D. professor Paul Fisher from UF. Two new modules are activated each week during the course, for a total of eight learning modules. Instruction is at each participant’s own pace and time within the four weeks of the course, with a typical time commitment of about four hours per week.
