A Closer Look at the Benefits of Greenhouse Cannabis
March 25, 2021 Last week, we posted a story on why the environmentally based argument for outdoor cannabis production over warehouse-type systems fails to consider greenhouse production. This week, in a recent blog post, Growlink outlines the benefits of producing cannabis in a greenhouse.
Among these benefits, according to the post, are:
- Increase production
- Minimizing risks
- Disease and pest prevention
- Year-round production
- Increased stability and security
The story also highlights how the technology required to create climate-controlled environments inside greenhouses is also contributing to the benefits of greenhouse farming.
“Greenhouse technology creates ideal environmental conditions for plants or crops, along with automation. While it’s used primarily to protect plants from unfavorable climatic conditions, it’s evolved to provide increased yields and reduced labor and resource costs using sensors to monitor conditions and automation to perform menial tasks based on the data.
