Even though organic crop production in the greenhouse currently represents no more than a niche sector, grower interest in organic production methods for ornamentals and vegetables is on the rise as more consumers are drawn to organic products. One challenge with organic growing is finding crop protection and nutritional products that fit with organic crop production techniques and that don’t compromise organic growing certifications such as USDA organic certification or the National Organic Program.

Greenhouse Grower reached out to crop protection and nutritional product suppliers to ask for their suggestions of some products suitable for organic growing. While the list does not capture every product available for organic growing, it is a good place to start your research when hunting for products suitable for use at your operation.

As with all products used on live goods, the directions for their use must be followed carefully and according to the instructions on the label. Specific restrictions may apply for the products on this list. Always read and follow label directions and check the product label to confirm which crops the product can be used on and if the product is registered for your state. Also, double-check the label to confirm that these products will work for your organic production and certifications.
