Koppert has launched its 2024 Sustainability Report, a milestone that underscores the company’s sharpened focus, evolving ambitions, and commitment to sustainable agriculture, people, and the planet.
Building on the foundation of Koppert’s inaugural report in 2023, the 2024 edition represents a significant step forward. It aligns with emerging global standards, including preparations for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which is set to take effect in the 2027 financial year. Structured around Koppert’s Future Forward sustainability strategy, the report centers on three core pillars: environmental impact, social responsibility, and governance (ESG).
“We are taking a pragmatic and forward-looking approach to integrating sustainability into our day-to-day decision-making,” says Erik-Jan Verdegaal, CFO of Koppert. “Our priority is to align operations with evolving regulatory requirements while ensuring financial resilience. That means making intentional, informed decisions — not reactive ones — while focusing on compliance readiness, long-term value creation, and greater transparency.”
Highlights from the 2024 Report:
Key highlights from the Koppert 2024 Sustainability Report include:
- 501,806 kg of synthetic pesticides avoided thanks to Koppert’s biological solutions.
- Reduced dependence on fossil-based logistics, supported by continued decentralization of production.
- Greenhouse gas emissions saw a slight increase from 40,958 to 41,881 tCO₂e, prompting initiatives to finalize climate targets in 2025 and accelerate the shift to renewable energy.
- In terms of affected communities, the Koppert Foundation supported 21,570 smallholder farmers through 27 global projects focused on agroecology, food security, and education.

In 2025, Koppert will finalize its climate targets and continue enhancing its ESG data systems to meet the expectations of regulators, partners, and communities.
