The overall purpose of the trials is to help the industry bring a better plant to the zoo’s many visitors that can serve as a tool for plant selection in an urban garden setting.
As the zoo completes a large expansion to its plant trials, Eason Horticultural Resources will work alongside breeders and growers to fill the space with a diverse range of the latest plant genetics.
The zoo opened a new off-grounds trial garden that allowed trialing of more varieties, as well as being able to plant and evaluate different petunia varieties in garden beds.
