The Toro Company launched a website earlier this week to educate about the benefits of drip irrigation. The site is partly geared toward greenhouse growers.
Visitors to www.DripIrrigation.org can access testimonials, illustrations, software, videos and links that answer questions about drip irrigation technologies. Website topics include drip irrigation basics, design and installation, operation and maintenance, research and related articles, monthly questions, and tips and trends.
In addition, testimonials and case studies of real world drip applications are presented in grower success stories and crop solutions.
“This resource is for education only, and intends to help address the growing demand for drip irrigation information by end users, institutions and other members of the agriculture and landscape supply chain,” says Claude Corcos, marketing manager for Toro Micro-Irrigation. “As freshwater sources for agriculture and landscape become scarcer and as drip irrigation is increasingly viewed as not only a method to conserve resources but also to improve value, we decided to share with others the wealth of information and tools we have developed.”
DripIrrigation.org was designed to encourage input and networking, and the site actively seeks questions for experts and to register participants as local Experts. There is also a giveaway drawing on the site for a chance to win a new Junior MAX controller.
