For many producers there is a fundamental decision that must be made when starting a cannabis cultivation: coir fiber or rockwool? Deciding correctly which substrate to use is a choice that will determine the production technique, but also the productiveness of the plant.

The market is clearly evolving towards coir fiber as the preferred growing method of major cannabis producers. But coconut fiber is a material that is already recycled, and when it accomplishes its initial purpose, it can be managed together with other plant residues to be composted, applied directly to the soil or mixed with other substrates” explains Alejandra.
