When breeders develop new genetics, there are a lot of stakeholders that have a say. The breeding company may also have its own strategic plan, like starting to offer a line of houseplants. Growers are looking for crops that are disease-resistant, compact, and have quick crop cycles for more turns in the greenhouse. However, consumers have different goals in mind.
