2025 Greenhouse Training Online Ends with Courses on Climate and Disease Management

‘Climate Management’ and ‘Practical Disease Management’, the next courses in the Greenhouse Training Online series from the University of Florida IFAS Extension (UF/IFAS), start on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025. ‘Climate Management’ is an advanced-level course designed for commercial growers with experience or well-trained/upper university-level training. ‘Practical Disease Management’ is an intermediate-level course designed for those with some training or entry-level university experience in production, technical, or sales roles in the greenhouse or nursery industry. Additionally, it is part of the Plant Health Professional Certificate.

Schedule and Registration for ‘Climate Management’ and ‘Practical Disease Management’ Courses

The ‘Climate Management’ and ‘Practical Disease Management’ courses both run from Nov. 10–Dec. 12, 2025. Both courses are available in English and Spanish, and all course material is completely online and available at any time of the day. They included pre-recorded videos, quizzes, and an interactive discussion board with each course’s teacher(s). Two new modules are activated each week during the course, for a total of eight learning modules.

‘Climate Management’ instructors include Paul Fisher from the University of Florida, Erik Runkle and Roberto Lopez from Michigan State University, Jim Faust from Clemson University, John Erwin from the University of Maryland, Jennifer Boldt and Kale Harbick from USDA-ARS, Charlie Hall from Texas A&M, and several environmental control experts from Argus, Priva, and Wadsworth. ‘Practical Disease Management’ is taught by Dr. Carrie Harmon, Director of the UF/IFAS Plant Diagnostic Center.
