America in Bloom has announced a new sustainability initiative to recognize exemplary gardens and landscapes in residential, commercial, educational, and public space properties. America in Bloom’s “Gardens Across America” program is a $20 self-certification program honoring properties that showcase environmental, sustainable, and civic beautification efforts in their home gardens, business property, places of worship, schools, or public gardens.

“As a proven leader in sustainability, America in Bloom has supported community beautification and environmental efforts in nearly 400 communities in 44 states, impacting more than 24 million people. Cities, towns, and municipalities of all sizes have memorialized thousands of actions and initiatives to lead sustainability efforts for generations to come through floral impact, landscaped areas, urban forestry, cultural heritage, and environmental efforts that create award-winning communities,” says Mason Day, President of the America in Bloom Board of Directors. “We invite all gardeners across America to join the movement and certify your property today.”

This designation certifies and registers exceptional gardens across America that showcase principles of sustainable gardening, beautification efforts, and seasonal variety and textures that create community vitality and pride. Collectively, we are creating a sweeping movement across the U.S., one garden at a time,” says Day.

America in Bloom provides an easy-to-use online Self-Assessment tool to certify properties through the “Gardens Across America” program. Once certified, growers can share their accomplishments and commitment to helping their communities through community vitality, beautification, and environmental stewardship.
