Greenhouse Megastore Returns to George Family Ownership

GMS Supply LLC, owned by the George family, announced that it has completed the acquisition of the Greenhouse Megastore assets from BFG Supply, returning the business to the family whose history with the company spans more than three decades.

Ben and David George’s father, David L. George, founded International Greenhouse Company in 1993. The business later became known as Greenhouse Megastore. Following its sale in 2021, the brothers saw an opportunity to reconnect the business with its founding legacy and build its next chapter.

“For our family, this is more than buying a business. It’s coming home to something my father started more than 30 years ago,” says Ben George, CEO and President of GMS Supply LLC. “Our roots here run deep. We’re proud to carry that legacy forward, reconnect with our customers and vendors, and build the future alongside our employees.”

The business will continue operating under the Greenhouse Megastore name, serving commercial growers, gardening enthusiasts, schools, and institutions with greenhouse structures, equipment, and growing supplies.

The new ownership team will focus on the fundamentals that have built and will continue to strengthen their lasting customer relationships: knowledgeable people, dependable service, quality products, and a commitment to helping customers succeed. The immediate focus will include replenishing inventory, strengthening vendor partnerships, and supporting employees through the transition.

Greenhouse Megastore is fully operational, accepting new orders and fulfilling orders without interruption. Customers with open orders or pending quotes can continue working with the team as they always have, and vendors can continue working through their existing contacts.

David George will serve as Chief Financial Officer, working alongside Ben and the team to establish a strong financial and operational foundation.
