BioWorks has appointed Jeffery Neese as Biological Solutions Advisor for the Great Lakes region.

In his new role, Neese will work closely with growers, distributors, and industry partners across the Great Lakes region to align biological solutions with real-world production needs and provide technical expertise to support effective integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.

Neese brings more than 35 years of commercial greenhouse and horticultural experience to BioWorks, with a career spanning crop production, biological pest control, IPM, technical leadership, and grower support.

Prior to joining BioWorks, Neese held several senior leadership roles with Costa Farms. Most recently, he served as Senior Technical Director of Horticulture, providing strategic and technical leadership across annual, perennial, young plant, and blooming crop programs. In this role, he helped align crop quality, production efficiency, sustainability, and profitability while developing production protocols and mentoring growers and horticultural leaders.

Neese also served as Director of Young Plant Operations and Head Grower, overseeing high-volume young plant production, growing protocols, technology integration, product quality, and customer support. Earlier in his career with Costa Farms, he managed a high-volume greenhouse operation with responsibility for crop execution, labor, quality control, and profitability, while also leading an eight-acre open-roof greenhouse expansion.

Throughout his career, Neese has championed biological pest control and integrated pest management, combining his technical expertise with a practical understanding of the production challenges growers face. His experience includes biological control implementation, scouting-based recommendations, grower training, technical support, and the development of practical production protocols.

“Jeffery brings an exceptional combination of hands-on growing experience, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of biological pest management,” says Chris Rose, General Manager at BioWorks. “His extensive experience managing commercial production operations and working directly with growers will be a tremendous asset to our customers and channel partners throughout the Great Lakes region.”

Based in Portage, MI, Neese will support growers and distributors throughout Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Missouri, and Nebraska. His extensive experience in the Midwest and commercial greenhouse production will further strengthen BioWorks’ ability to provide localized technical support and practical biological solutions.

“I’m excited to join BioWorks and help growers get the most from biological solutions,” says Neese. “My focus will be on understanding each grower’s production system and challenges, then helping develop practical, effective IPM programs that support crop quality, consistency, and profitability.”
