December 10, 2025 Every year, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden‘s FlameProof Awards recognize plants that not just survive, but thrive, is the brutal heat of a Texas summer. Within the trial gardens at the Dallas Arboretum, varieties are evaluated for drought resistance, heat tolerance, and overall ornamental appeal from spring through fall. With the conclusion of the 2025 field trials at the Dallas Arboretum, 23 varieties from Proven Winners were recognized and earned the distinction of the Flame Proof Awards.
