The doors of the new Tomato Vision R&D and marketing facility opened one year after its construction was first announced. The design of the greenhouse mimics the actual conditions under which growers work, with different areas for illuminated and unlit cultivation with climate control. Visitors are not only offered a unique first glimpse into upcoming introductions, they can also get a broader introduction to Syngenta’s entire active greenhouse portfolio.

Tomato Vision is also a platform to connect with customers and identify their needs.

“We want to develop varieties that really meet the needs of growers and customers,” says Ruud Kaagman, Global Tomato Crop Unit Head at Syngenta. “This link between our growers and the market enables us to supply custom-made varieties. ”
