California Spring Trials (CAST) isn’t just about variety introductions; it’s also when several companies choose to announce new partnerships, new leadership, and new ventures.

Beekenkamp Plants Inks Deal to Become North American Kalanchoë Supplier: Beekenkamp Plants BV and SlijkermanKalanchoë, a Netherlands-based Kalanchoe company that specializes in the breeding and production of single- and double-flowered Kalanchoë, have agreed to a cooperation effective immediately for the North American market.

PanAmerican Seed Expands Indoor Vegetable Offerings: PanAmerican Seed has purchased the Kitchen Minis program from Dalina Genetics, a Danish breeder of ornamental and edible plants. The purchase includes breeding lines, as well as commercial products of compact tomatoes and cucumbers.

Syngenta Flowers on Inside Track With Varinova Cyclamen: Syngenta Flowers and Varinova Operations B.V. have announced a new agreement with Syngenta Flowers becoming the exclusive sales and marketing channel for Varinova cyclamen varieties in the U.S. and Canada.

Terra Nova Nurseries Joins ThinkPlants Marketing Initiative: Terra Nova Nurseries has joined the breeder, grower, and supplier network of ThinkPlants, a marketing initiative bringing plants to the North American nursery industry.
