Stay on Top of Supply Chain Concerns With This Valuable Resource

When the Produce Marketing Association and United Fresh Produce Association officially merged late last year to form the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA), one of the benefits was consolidation of important industry resources. This is needed now more than ever as the produce and floral markets face significant supply chain disruptions.

Fortunately, IFPA has quickly stepped up to the plate by offering an online portal devoted to supply chain management resources, including challenges and opportunities. One of the most helpful pages looks at overall disruptions, with a focus on labor availability, transportation issues, and packing/shipping material recommendations. These concerns are summed up in an open letter IFPA and several other organizations submitted to President Biden.

The supply chain page also takes a closer look at blockchain and what it means; data synchronization; and traceability. Site visitors can filter their information search based on crop, industry segment, and whether they are looking for information via articles or webinars.

Be sure to keep up with supply chain issues and other big-picture challenges by signing up for IFPA’s weekly Virtual Town Halls.
