Learn the Ins and Outs of Pest Management in Ornamentals

The in-person gathering of the Northeast Greenhouse Conference (NEGC) has been postponed to 2021, but event organizers still want to provide a useful and timely educational experience for past grower attendees, as well as the rest of the horticulture industry.

Beginning on Nov. 4, a weekly webinar series from the NEGC will offer a closer look at improving plant quality through insect and disease management, using plant growth regulators, and keeping surfaces clean.

The speaker list includes several names familiar to ornamentals growers, including:

  • Dan Gilrein of Cornell University on pest management in mums
  • Suzanne Wainwright-Evans of Buglady Consulting on how to be successful with biocontrols
  • Margery Daughtrey of Cornell on common disease issues in mums
  • Mary Hausbeck of Michigan State University on thwarting root rots
  • Chris Currey of Iowa State University on the use of plant growth regulators in young plants
  • Rosa Raudales of the University of Connecticut on the importance of surface sanitation in preventing the spread of plant pathogens.
