New Recommendations for Managing Greenhouse Pests and Diseases in 2026

In a recent e-Gro Alert, updated greenhouse insect and disease control recommendations from Michigan State University Extension for the 2026 growing season were covered by Heidi Lindberg, Jeremy Jubenville, and Mary Hausbeck. Here’s a look at new tips and strategies that growers should know.
Changes to the 2026 Pest Management and Disease Control Guides
The 2026 “Greenhouse Insect Pest Management” guide provides a comprehensive list of labeled products for managing common greenhouse insects and mite pests, in addition to practical guidance and strategies for scouting, product recommendations, application techniques, and more.
The 2026 “Greenhouse Disease Management” guide ranks products from “A+” to “B-” based on the results of efficacy trials, regarding the level of disease control, prevention, and protection, as well as instructions relating to the alternation of products based on their FRAC codes.
Notable changes to the guides include:
- A new section on biopesticides
- Expanded and revised list of cutting dip applications
- Updated product tables to reflect current labels and available chemistries
The updated “Greenhouse Insect Pest Management” and “Greenhouse Disease Management” guides are now available online.
