Are you currently growing or considering growing spinach indoors? Dr. Nathan Eylands, an Assistant Professor of Controlled Environment Agriculture in the Department of Horticultural Science at the University of Minnesota is conducting a survey to understand issues and opportunities around hydroponic spinach. “In order to achieve this, we believe that it is imperative that industry members contribute to the development of research projects,” Eylands says. “We have created a short survey that we kindly ask for you to participate in. Using the information from the survey, our research team will prioritize industry needs. Based on the primary needs, we will develop experiments designed to solve problems at all stages of spinach production. The research team consists of land grant universities across the nation. Our mission is the democratization of scientific knowledge. In accordance with this mission, the results of these experiments will be disseminated as open-access information to anyone and everyone. Our hope is that our work and passion creates a more profitable future for CEA producers everywhere.”
