Suntory Flowers Expands Two Surfinia Petunia Series: Heavenly and XXL

More Gorgeous Surfinia Petunias for 2023

You can never have too many great petunias! For more than 30 years, Surfinia petunias have been the flagship brand for Suntory Flowers all over the world. Be among the first to add three new beauties to your assortment.

Surfinia XXL is the start of a new subseries that’s big on potential. Plants have a tighter, more upright habit, but produce larger flowers – grandiflora-sized blooms spanning 3-4 inches. You don’t see many grandiflora vegetative petunias.

These are different than the classic trailing or more vigorous Surfinia Sumo petunias recommended for landscapes. XXL varieties are earlier to flower and day-length neutral, blooming as soon as week 8 in the South. The bright colors just pop!

The series debuted last year with XXL Taffy Pink. New for 2023 are XXL Salmon Vein and XXL Watermelon Jazz. SURFINIA® XXL – Suntory FlowersSurfinia Heavenly Amethyst Burst will be your next top seller! Light purple flowers have dark contrasting throats. Habit is semi-trailing, like top-selling Surfinia petunias Heavenly Blue and Deep Red, grower favorites. We call this the Heavenly habit – the happy medium between compact and vigorous trailing. Heavenly Cabernet debuted last year with rich burgundy/purple flowers and dark throats.
