Biophi and Delphy to Collaborate for Horticultural Research and Innovation
Biophi and Delphy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at developing a strategic cooperation for horticultural research and innovation.
Canadian and North American horticulture is developing rapidly and faces a number of challenges when it comes to sustainable production, the challenge of replacing manual work with mechanics/robotization, and profitability. At the same time, Canadian horticulture is leading in technology, marketing, and sales for the entire North American continent.
In order to support these developments and provide them with new knowledge, Biophi and Delphy have signed the MOU to determine and set up the form for strategic cooperation. Delphy‘s knowledge and expertise in this area from the Netherlands, together with the local network and relations of Biophi, will provide an acceleration in this area.
The new Biophi Innovation Center (previously the Center for Horticultural Innovation) is under development to replace the existing facility with a state-of-the-art, high-tech greenhouse research and demonstration facility. Delphy’s experience with such centers in the Netherlands and Biophi’s knowledge of the local situation will ensure that the new center will meet the requirements of all stakeholders.
