2026 Greenhouse Training Online — “Practical Disease Management”. | UF/IFAS

“Practical Disease Management” starts on Monday, March 30, 2026, and is the next course in the 2026 Greenhouse Training Online series from the University of Florida IFAS Extension (UF/IFAS). This intermediate-level course is designed for those with some training or entry-level university experience in production, technical, or sales roles in the greenhouse or nursery industry.

“Practical Disease Management” Course Topics

Course participants will learn about:

  • How plant diseases develop and spread.
  • Managing growing conditions.
  • Safely applying and handling fungicides.
  • Specific chemical management practices of common greenhouse and nursery situations.
  • Understanding basic organic and conventional disease management options.

“Practical Disease Management” Schedule and Registration

The “Practical Disease Management” course runs from March 30–April 24, 2026, and is part of the Plant Health Professional program. Available in English and Spanish, all course material is completely online and available at any time of the day. It includes pre-recorded videos, quizzes, and an interactive discussion board with Dr. Carrie Harmon, Director of the UF/IFAS Plant Diagnostic Center in Gainesville, FL. Two new modules are activated each week during the course, for a total of eight learning modules. Instruction is at each participant’s own pace and time within the four weeks of the course, with a typical time commitment of about four hours per week.
