Highlights From Day 4 of California Spring Trials 2026

Day Four of California Spring Trials 2026 closed out the week with one more full day of standout plants and breeding innovation. Our stops included Ball Horticultural in Santa Paula, CA, featuring PanAmerican Seed, Ball FloraPlant, Selecta, Darwin Perennials, and Morel Cyclamen, followed by Green Fuse Grove in Somis, CA, where Westhoff, Green Fuse Botanicals, Quality Cuttings, Schoneveld, Hem Genetics, and Beekenkamp were on display. As with the rest of the week, the final day offered a strong mix of color, form, and market-ready potential. Check out the slideshow on this page for a few of the varieties that stood out to me most on day four of CAST.

Overall, day four of CAST ended the week on a strong note. From unique edibles and early-season potted crops to bold foliage and eye-catching flowering selections, the final day offered a wide mix of introductions with strong retail and garden appeal. What stood out most to me was how many of the plants paired novelty with real practicality, whether through disease resistance, container performance, pollinator appeal, or standout color. It felt like a fitting close to a week full of fresh ideas and strong breeding work across the industry. Top of Form
