An Opportunity to Continue a Legacy in Central New York

Patrick Ponto Jr. founded Ponto’s Greenhouses in June 1988, launching the business immediately after graduating high school. While growing the company, Patrick continued his education and earned an Associate’s Degree in Greenhouse Management from SUNY Morrisville in 1990. With his degree completed, he shifted his full attention to expanding the facility, strengthening customer relationships, and broadening the product line, all while maintaining a steadfast commitment to high‑quality plants and exceptional service.

In the early years, the business focused on houseplants, dish gardens, and seasonal offerings for the florist industry. Over 37 years of hands‑on experience, Ponto’s Greenhouses has evolved into a comprehensive wholesale operation offering an extensive selection of products, including houseplants, cacti, succulents, dish gardens, annuals, perennials, fall mums, poinsettias, wreaths, greens, and indoor flowering plants available year‑round or for holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Christmas. Today, they maintain a large, consistent inventory and ship 52 weeks a year.

Ponto’s Greenhouses, LLC is a wholesale grower dedicated to supplying florists, plants shops, farm stands, garden centers and fundraisers with a wide range of high‑quality plant products. Our mission is to provide exceptional selection and dependable quality, helping our customers offer the very best to their own customer in their communities.

The facility includes 1.5 acres of greenhouse production and over 2 acres of outdoor growing space, enabling us to cultivate a diverse and reliable inventory throughout the year. There is lots of hard work pride driven, in maintaining a clean, modern facility and continually upgrading our equipment to meet today’s industry standards.

At the core of our business is a simple, enduring belief: our customers are our greatest asset. Our mission has always been—and continues to be—to provide a wide range of high‑quality plants for our customers, supported by reliable service and decades of horticultural expertise.

The decision to market the business was not an easy one, but became easier once the realization that there would be no family members continuing the legacy.  The plan and hope is to sell and keep as much of the same staff as possible for an easy transition, while providing the same product and service that Ponto’s Greenhouses LLC has for years. The process of finding a new owner was started early to allow ample time to find a good fit for the business. For now it is business as usual at Ponto’s Greenhouses LLC.
