2026 Greenhouse Training Online — “Cuttings and Stock Plant Management”. | UF/IFAS
“Cuttings and Stock Plant Management” starts on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, and is the next and new course in the 2026 Greenhouse Training Online series from the University of Florida IFAS Extension (UF/IFAS). This advanced-level course is designed for experienced commercial growers, horticulture science students, and those with previous training in intermediate-level courses.
“Cuttings and Stock Plant Management” Course Topics
Course participants will learn about:
- Cold chain management from harvest to sticking
- Cuttings production and stock plant management
- Key herbaceous crop species
And more key details for how to start with clean stock plants and healthy cuttings that continue through the postharvest distribution chain and finishes in the propagation greenhouse.
“Cuttings and Stock Plant Management” Schedule and Registration
The “Cuttings and Stock Plant Management” course runs Aug. 17–Sept. 18, 2026, and is part of the new Elite Grower program. Available in English and Spanish, all course material is completely online and available at any time of the day. It includes pre-recorded videos, quizzes, and an interactive discussion board with Ph.D. instructors Dr. James Faust of Clemson University and Dr. John Dole of North Carolina State University. Two new modules are activated each week during the course, for a total of eight learning modules. Instruction is at each participant’s own pace and time within the four weeks of the course, with a typical time commitment of about six hours per week.
