Floral Consumption Rises
Consumer spending on floriculture was up a billion dollars last year, the Society of American Florists reports. According to updated statistics from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), spending on plants and flowers grew from $19.738 billion in 2005 to $20.765 billion in 2006, a 5.5 percent increase.
