New Star Roses and Terra Nova Varieties from Cultivate’25

Both Star Roses and Plants and Terra Nova Nurseries were among some of the many breeders to debut new varieties at Cultivate’25. Here’s a look at the new variety debuts made by each company:

New Star Roses and Plants Varieties Showcased at Cultivate ‘25

Star Roses and Plants presented its new 2026 plant varieties at Cultivate ’25. The nine new varieties are as follows:

BuddleiaDapper Blue’

A rounded, compact habit makes this plant a great fit for a variety of uses. Blue flowers are formed in early summer and continue to rebloom into the fall. Spent flowers are hidden by new blooms, reducing the need for deadheading.

LagerstroemiaBellini Cherry’

This Crape Myrtle is offered in a small shrub form, perfect for tight garden spaces. It’s super compact and deer resistant with an abundance of red blooms.

This rose produces an abundance of rich magenta blooms with a spicy scent reminiscent of clove and cinnamon.

Rosa ‘Scarlet Drift’

Available in a range of bold colors, these compact roses are perfect for every size space. Scarlet Drift produces a flush of single, red flowers that starts early and reblooms well, bringing constant color to the garden.

Rosa ‘Sugar Candy Rose’

The bright orange blooms of Sugar Candy Rose are larger than a typical miniature rose and cover the plant completely with flowers. This rose will stay under 2 feet tall, making it perfect for a patio container or mixed with other annuals for a cheerful and colorful presentation!

Terra Nova Nurseries Announces 2025-2026 Catalog and New Varieties for Cultivate 2025 Display

Terra Nova Nurseries debuted several new varieties at Cultivate’25, all of which were part of its newly released 2025-2026 catalog.

Agastache ‘Peach Pearl’ and Agastache ‘Prince’s Plume’ feature hardy, disease-resistant foliage as well as an abundance of long-lasting, fragrant, and colorful flower spikes.

Ajuga ‘Nova White’ grows with a spreading and trailing habit and features deep-green, glossy foliage. This variety can be used as a groundcover, edger, or container plant in sun or shade.

Bred for the pot crop market, Echinacea ‘Delightful Garnet’ and Echinacea ‘Delightful Sunshine’ showcase a compact, mounding habit, a hallmark of the Delightful Series.

From the Princess series, Echinacea ‘Princess Citrus’ and Echinacea ‘Princess Honey’, also bred for the pot crop market, bloom from June through October and add a pop of color to mixed beds, borders, and cut flower arrangements.

Echinacea ‘Fried Egg’, Echinacea ‘Fringe Festival’, Echinacea ‘Prima Aura’, and Echinacea ‘Supreme Lime’ are a testament to echinacea breeding expertise. They are standout pollinator-attracting varieties in beds, mass plantings, borders, and other landscape applications.

Additional new varieties that were on display include Geum ‘Tempo Fiesta’, Kniphofia ‘Poco Butter Brickle’, and Plectranthus ‘Nova Brilliant’.

Heuchera ‘Iridescent’ lives up to its name with pearly foliage that changes from rose-pink to silver-lavender as the season progresses. Its shiny leaves are held in a tight mound and complemented by soft-pink flowers.

Heuchera ‘Rosewood’ and Heuchera ‘Testarossa’ are notable for their rich colors and excellent habits.

Heucherella ‘Pink Stardust’ boasts rust-free and disease-resistant foliage. Its silvery, mint-green foliage is complemented by bright-pink, star-shaped flowers, and is a strong addition to mixed containers, hanging baskets, beds, or borders.

Liatris ‘White Feather’ is fast-growing, robust, and very showy; its pure-white blooms flower in its first year.
