$3 Million in Federal Grants Available for Indoor Ag Producers

Gotham-Greens grants

Gotham Greens sells out of its greenhouse grown leafy greens every day, according to the company.

Greenhouse vegetable growers should take note of USDA’s announcement this week of the availability of $3 million in grants for indoor ag production through USDA’s new Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production.

Supported by United Fresh Produce Association and the Specialty Crop Farm Bill Alliance, the competitive grants will support the development of urban agriculture and innovative production projects through two categories: Planning Projects and Implementation Projects. USDA will accept applications on Grants.gov until July 6, 2020.

For those interested in learning more about project types, eligibility, and basic requirements for submitting an application, USDA is hosting a webinar on June 3 at 2:00 p.m.
