Dümmen Orange Announces New Management Changes for Central American Farms

Dümmen Orange recently promoted Moises Cadenas to general manager of its Red Fox Las Mercedes Farm located in Santa Ana, El Salvador; and hired Walter Cadenas as general manager at its Antigua Flowers Farm located in Alotenango, Guatemala. 

“We’re very excited to announce the promotion of Moises and addition of Walter to our Central American team,” says Carl Kroon, Dümmen Orange Regional Director for Supply Chain in the Americas. “Having extensive professional experience, they’ve both built very successful careers in the floricultural industry. With these changes, I’m sure that we will further strengthen our farms in Central America and serve our customers in the best possible way.” 

Moises graduated as an agronomist from Rafael Landivar University. He joined Dümmen Orange Guatemala in 2009, where he has since held multiple roles that have shaped his career. Before moving to El Salvador, he was general manager at the Dümmen Orange Antigua Flowers Farm. His recent professional highlights include implementing GreenCompliance (Dümmen Orange’s quality management system) at Antigua Flowers Farm. 

Walter joined Dümmen Orange after working for three years as a technical advisor at Express Seed Company. Prior to that, he worked at Syngenta for 15 years, including eight years serving as general manager at one of their Guatemalan farms. He studied agriculture at Rafael Landivar University and earned his MBA degree from Francisco Marroquin University

Eason Horticultural Resources (EHR) Adds Wendy Moore to Its National Sales Team

Wendy brings nearly 30 years of experience to EHR with service to customers in Eastern Ohio. With an Associate degree in Landscape Contracting & Construction from Ohio State Agriculture Technical Institute, coupled with extensive experience in sales, landscaping installation & maintenance, garden center management, and wholesale growing, Wendy will quickly address and deliver on the needs of customers in the region.

Wendy has been committed to the industry beyond her dedication to serving customers, through years of active participation in the Ohio Landscape Association, where she held roles as a committee member and educator. Additionally, she was a past board member of the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association.

Ridder North America Hires Rob Hanifin as Climate Screens Product Specialist

Ridder North America, a leader in innovative greenhouse solutions, has appointed Rob Hanifin as the new Product Specialist for Climate Screens. Based on the U.S. East Coast, Rob will play a crucial role in supporting growers across North America and globally, enhancing their capabilities in greenhouse climate management. 

Rob brings to Ridder a wealth of expertise in the field of greenhouse climate screens. With more than six years of dedicated service as a Climate Consultant for Svensson, he has developed a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by growers. His experience extends to assisting growers in selecting appropriate climate screens and utilizing them effectively to optimize their greenhouse environments.

Prior to joining Ridder, Rob also amassed significant experience in agricultural research, conducting crop trials in controlled environment agriculture (CEA) and field settings for various private, government, and academic institutions. His work has spanned the U.S., dealing with diverse regional climate conditions and broadening his expertise in climate management for CEA crops.
