Greenhouse Grower to Grower Podcast: The Bright Future of Horticulture Education (Part Three)

Greenhouse Grower has entered the world of podcasts with the launch of our new “Greenhouse Grower to Grower” series. In the podcast, which will be delivered every other week, we talk to growers from across the controlled-environment industry about market trends, innovation, their biggest challenges and opportunities, and more.

Greenhouse Grower’s July cover story features a closer look at how university horticulture departments from across the country are attracting new blood to the industry while fostering career development. I had the chance to talk to six department heads about a wide range of topics, and the conversations were so informative that there was no way for us to include all of their input in one article. So we’re using this podcast as a way to offer extended versions of these conversations. In this episode, I talk to Dr. Desmond Layne, Head and Professor of the Department of Horticulture at Auburn University, about some of the unique programs Auburn has in place to engage both students and industry professionals, including working with culinary experts.

You can listen to the episode here, or you can find it wherever you listen to podcasts. We hope you enjoy it!
