National Retail Federation Addresses Concerns About EMV Chips
In a story and video recently posted on the National Retail Federation (NRF)’s website, NRF senior vice president and general counsel Mallory Duncan talks about the new credit cards with EMV chips that banks continue to roll out, and how they are used.
One key point: Duncan says these cards are not necessarily as safe as they should be, and there is still work to be done when it comes to ensuring security during credit card transactions.
A video embedded in the article gives a nice representation of the physical process of inserting (not swiping) a credit card during a transaction involving new EMV devices.
