Willoway Nurseries Expands With Acquisition of Decker’s Nursery
Willoway Nurseries, one of the Midwest’s leading wholesale nursery growers and #34 on Greenhouse Grower’s 2026 Top 100 Growers list, has acquired Decker’s Nursery, a respected horticultural operation based in Groveport, OH. The acquisition represents a significant strategic investment that will expand Willoway’s production capabilities, enhance vertical integration, and strengthen its ability to serve customers throughout the region and across the U.S.
Founded in 1954, Willoway Nurseries has built a reputation for quality plant production, innovation, and customer service. The addition of Decker’s Nursery’s propagation expertise, growing infrastructure, and experienced team further positions Willoway for long-term growth in an evolving green industry.
The acquisition includes approximately 150 acres of nursery operations in Groveport, OH, featuring extensive container production areas, propagation greenhouses, stock blocks, and a well-established grafting and liner production program. Decker’s Nursery has earned industry recognition for its expertise in grafted conifers and specialty propagation and maintains relationships with several leading plant brands and licensing partners.
“Bringing Decker’s Nursery into the Willoway family is a tremendous opportunity for both organizations,” says Tom Demaline, CEO of Willoway Nurseries. “By combining our strengths, we can offer customers a broader plant portfolio, increase production efficiency, and continue investing in the future of horticulture.”
Existing Decker’s Nursery employees will play an important role in the combined company’s success, bringing valuable institutional knowledge and technical expertise to the expanded operation.
“With this sale, we have succeeded in our objective to find a path that allows our staff to continue to pursue customer expectations, service and growth. Our skills are unique, and the Willoway team embraces this opportunity and continued tradition,” says Brian Decker, President of Decker’s Nursery.
Customers of both companies can expect a seamless transition with continued access to the products, service, and relationships they have come to trust. The combined organization will offer an expanded selection of liners, grafted material, finished containers, woody ornamentals, and other nursery products through an integrated sales and distribution network.
“This acquisition is about creating new opportunities for our employees, customers, and industry partners,” Demaline says. “Together, Willoway and Decker’s are better positioned to meet growing demand, introduce new genetics, enhance production capabilities, and continue delivering exceptional value to the marketplace.”
