Here are the 2021 Plans For Eight Indoor Farming Operations

With the year 2020 has been, many green industry company are looking forward to a new beginning in 2021.

AeroFarms Expects Sales to Skyrocket  

AeroFarms is working up towards April, when it will launch a 90,000-square-foot vertical farm in Abu Dhabi. Sales are expected to skyrocket with its opening. 

The company is also working on a new plan to help reduce food waste by investing in Precision Indoor Plants (PIP). They plan to investigate how to prevent lettuce discoloration.

AppHarvest is Entering the Tomato Market 

AppHarvest recently harvested its first crop of tomatoes. The company’s goal is to help reduce the U.S.s reliance on imports for its tomatoes. 

Bowery Farms is Opening in Pennsylvania

Gotham Greens is Coming to More Grocery Stores 

Gotham Greens has worked to get its newest operation in Aurora, CO, up and running. They also were able to expand to Baltimore, MD.  

In December, Gotham announced a $87 million funding round which will go to support products in Whole Foods Market, Albertsons Companies, Meijer, Target, King Soopers, Harris Teeter, ShopRite, and Sprouts.
