Jim Wilson, All-America Selections (AAS) executive director from 1975 to 1982, died August 1 at his home in Colombia, Mo. His services were held Monday, August 16.

Wilson is probably best known as the author of 14 gardening books and co-host of PBS's "The Victory Garden." In 2004, Wilson was awarded the prestigious AAS Medallion of Honor for his achievements and contributions to horticulture and gardening.

Just a week after Wilson's death, on August 8, Andy Blodgett, formerly of Sakata Seeds, Colegrave and Waller Genetics, died unexpectedly in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Remembered fondly by industry friends as a kind and family-focused man, Blodgett gave tirelessly to industry organizations, including Fleuroselect and AAS.
