Coreopsis verticillata 'Sweet Marmalade' From Aris Horticultural Services
July 26, 2011
The stunning flowers of this variety open deep orange, and mellow to soft apricot yellow through the season. Plants produce bushy mounds of mid-green, narrow, linear foliage that grow 12 inches high. The tidy habit works beautifully in the garden or a container. Plants prefer full sun and are hardy in Zones 5 to 9. A summer cutback encourages a new flush of growth and bloom for autumn. Introduced by Blooms of Bressingham, 'Sweet Marmalade' is from The Plantage, founded by Yohei Hosogai of Nichien Co. in Japan. As it is a sport of 'Crème Brulee,' the food theme was continued.
