PGR Mix Master App Gets an Update.

The free PGR Mix Master app has been updated to provide even more accessible and accurate plant growth regulator (PGR) application information for growers. Use it to calculate how much PGR concentrate to mix with water to obtain a desired concentration and volume.

From any mobile or desktop device, the PGR Mix Master app makes it easy for growers to quickly calculate the correct dilution rate for drenches and sprays with some of the most common PGRs used on ornamental plants.

Developed by Dr. Brian Krug, greenhouse/floriculture specialist at University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension, in partnership with Fine Americas, the PGR Mix Master app takes the guesswork out of PGR mixing. As Fine Americas President Greg Johnson says, “Applying plant growth regulators at the proper rates is a key step to improving plant quality and greenhouse profitability, and the PGR Mix Master app makes it easier for growers and their greenhouse workers.”

Using the PGR Mix Master app is easy. With just a few clicks, growers have the right rates in their hands:

Pick the PGR.

Choose metric or standard unit of measurement.

Enter final solution amount (gallons).

Enter PGR concentration (ppm).

Click the “Calculate” button. The app provides the correct gallons of water and fluid ounces of PGR to use.

Growers who currently have the app installed should delete it and install the new 2.0 version. The old version (1.1.2) will not work with newer Apple iOS versions. Do not use the version in the app store, as it is the old version as well.

Growers can also access the calculator using their favorite web browser by visiting http://e-gro.org/mixmaster/. The app performs best in Safari.
