Early-release seeds for 2028 are now available for ordering from PanAmerican Seed, allowing growers to secure these new variety introductions for the spring 2027 selling season. Additional 2028 varieties will be announced in the lead-up to California Spring Trials (CAST) 2027, but until then, here’s what to know about these introductions.

Cuphea Sweet Talk™ Red Splash and Violet Splash

Two new colors, Red Splash and Violet Splash, join the heat-loving Cuphea Sweet Talk series. With fewer gaps and tighter branching than other Cuphea, and nectar-rich blooms that attract bees and hummingbirds, these new additions bring both beauty and pollinator appeal to the garden.

Impatiens Beacon® De Ven Mix

Beacon expands its lineup with De Ven Mix, bringing together four colors for shade displays. With high resistance to downy mildew, Beacon Impatiens deliver season-long color across packs, pots, hanging baskets, and in-ground beds.

Salvia Salvatini

Meet Salvatini, a new Salvia nemorosa series featuring purple-blue flower spikes. With abundant blooms, a compact habit, and an early finish, it’s a great choice for quart production.

Lavandula Ellagance Sky Blue and White

Sky Blue and White are the latest additions to the Lavandula Ellagance series. Known for uniformity, strong branching, and large flower spikes, the series offers reliable performance in two new colors.

Snapdragon Early Potomac™

Early Potomac is a Group 3 variety that delivers long stems with strong taper and is a great fit for Spring and Autumn cut flower production.

Pentas Lucky Star® Bright Red

Bright Red brings a new scarlet color to the Pentas Lucky Star lineup, with early flowering and fast follow-up blooms that keep plants looking full and colorful throughout the retail season.
