Skytree, ViewNetic Take Home Technology Awards at GreenTech 2025

The winners of the GreenTech Awards were announced at the opening of GreenTech Amsterdam 2025 on June 10. ViewNetic won the Concept Award for its ViewNetic platform, while Skytree won the Innovation Award for Skytree Stratus. GreenTech Amsterdam will be held till Thursday, June 12 at RAI Amsterdam.

“The jury was impressed by the volume and quality of this year’s innovations, especially in data science and artificial intelligence. Smarter products now enable two-way communication with components, driving automation and high-quality data,” says Egon Janssen, chairman of the jury. “Lighting systems with frequency-specific dimming and sustainable tech like CO₂ capture and efficient dehumidification stood out. Most exciting is plant monitoring — advanced sensors and vision tech are helping put the plant in the control loop.”

Concept Award : ViewNetic Platform

ViewNetic transforms crop protection from reactive responses to preventive action. The ViewNetic AI-powered platform detects threats early, converts real-time data into insights, and delivers timely, actionable, and precise recommendations, empowering growers to reduce costs, increase value, and farm more sustainably.

“This year, we were presented with three outstanding concepts, each with strong potential. In evaluating their impact, the jury was particularly inspired by the ViewNetic system,” Janssen says. “It represents a fundamental shift from scouting by sample to monitoring each individual plant. This innovation could mark the beginning of chemical-free growing.”

Innovation Award: Skytree Stratus

Skytree builds machines to capture CO₂ from the air and repurpose it for good. Skytree Stratus is a compact direct air capture machine that enables on-site CO₂ generation from ambient air. It marks a shift to decentralized carbon capture, cutting supply chain reliance. Scalable and modular, Skytree Stratus brings sustainable, circular CO₂ use to commercial settings like greenhouses and vertical farms.

“The jury recognizes CO₂ as a critical challenge in the transition to sustainable growing. Skytree has demonstrated an extraordinary pace in developing and scaling their technology,” Janssen says. “What truly sets them apart is not only the strength of their innovation, but also their strategic focus on the business case and their effective engagement with government stakeholders. We believe Skytree is uniquely positioned to support growers on the path toward fossil-free cultivation.”

These products will be showcased at the GreenTech show floor, along with the 47 other technologies that were submitted for the awards. You can find them here.
