The Evening of Excellence is held on Monday, July 13 in the Short North Ballroom at Cultivate’26, powered by AmericanHort. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and the event begins at 5:30 p.m.

Dr. A. on the Vital Role That Plant Breeders Play in Floriculture

Coffee Shop has dark-roast foliage and double-shot blooms. Dark foliage creates dramatic contrast in borders while complementing the rich, fully double blooms that hold their shape throughout the season.

Fragaria Pretty, Tasty™ Ruby (ThinkPlants/Terra Nova Nurseries)

Large semi-double red flowers look like miniature roses on sturdy strawberry foliage throughout the spring and summer. Huge clusters of delicious, large berries are produced for months on end.

Petunia ‘Capella Inked’ (Danziger)

Trumpet-shaped blooms; regular deadheading promotes abundant rebloom from late spring to fall. The sun-loving, mounding, semi-trailing plants are an excellent choice for hanging baskets, small and large pots, and garden beds.

Sedum Spectacular (PanAmerican Seed)

This seed alternative to S. spectabile has a compact habit and sturdier flower clusters. The tight habit creates more color impact in the landscape, in smaller pots, and mixed patio containers.
