Seed Your Future Launches Its 2026 Year-End Fundraising Campaign

Seed Your Future has launched “From Classroom to Career: Grow the Next Generation,” its 2026 year-end fundraising campaign. The goal is to raise $50,000 by Dec. 31, 2026, to help at least 50,000 young people discover the opportunities available in horticulture.

For as little as $8.50, a donation can help Seed Your Future reach one teacher with free Seed to STEM lessons and horticulture career resources. Through these educators, the organization introduces entire classrooms to career paths spanning plant science, technology, design, business, production, and sustainability. One teacher with the right resources can spark interest in an industry many students may never have considered.

“Students can’t pursue careers they don’t know exist,” says Jazmin Albarran, Executive Director of Seed Your Future. “By helping educators bring horticulture into the classroom, we can open students’ eyes to opportunities that combine their interests with meaningful work. Every contribution helps us reach more teachers, introduce more students to the power of plants, and build a stronger future for our industry.”

How Your Gift Grows

Every donation helps Seed Your Future expand access to career exploration resources and connect more educators and students with horticulture. Contributions can help support:

• $85 equips 10 teachers with career exploration tools
• $250 provides plantable career exploration papers for career fairs
• $500 impacts 2,000 students exploring horticulture careers
• $1,000 empowers more than 115 educators with career pathway resources
• $5,000 covers the cost of 2 HS educators attending Seed to STEM immersive program

Each teacher reached is a chance to introduce students to careers they may not encounter through traditional classroom learning. From hands-on growing and plant science to business, design, and emerging technologies, horticulture offers a wide range of possibilities for the next generation.

Resources That Reach the Next Generation

Since its founding in 2014, Seed Your Future has worked to change perceptions of the horticulture industry and make career pathways more visible to students and educators. Its resources include:

• 156 career profiles showcasing the diversity of opportunities in horticulture
• More than 50 high school lessons connecting classroom learning to real-world careers
• The Plant Power Career Quiz, helping students discover where their interests align with horticulture
• 30 ready-to-use classroom tools and resources that make it easier for educators to introduce career conversations
• Internship and scholarship opportunities, career videos and industry stories
• Green Career Week, connecting industry professionals directly with students and future talent

As Seed Your Future looks toward its next decade, expanding access to these resources remains essential to building a strong, skilled workforce and helping young people understand how plants shape our food systems, health, environment, and economy.

How to Support

Individuals, companies, and industry partners can support the campaign through personal donations, corporate contributions, or introductions to others who want to invest in the future of horticulture. Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1, is a great day to give, and all gifts made by Dec. 31 count toward the $50,000 goal and are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
