Thanks to a generous gift by Ken and Deena Altman and an education grant from the American Floral Endowment, this year UF has added three new courses to the program.

The University of Florida has developed an online and mobile app that helps the public identify bees and bee-friendly plants in their yards.

All course material from the University of Florida is completely online and available at any time of the day, and include pre-recorded videos.

Growers can improve their prevention and management of diseases in nurseries and greenhouses by registering for the University of Florida’s Disease Management online course.

Growers and technical staff in the greenhouse and controlled environment industry can gain a new qualification in plant health management.

“Nutrient Management Level 1” is the second course of the Greenhouse Online Training program offered by the University of Florida.

The course addresses the skill sets required to help with propagation, germination, extraction, and analysis.

Consumers have no way of knowing if the plants broadly marketed as wildlife friendly are truly so, a problem the University of Florida hopes to address.
