Applying for Horticulture Industry Scholarships Just Got Easier

The Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Fund and the Horticultural Research Institute (HRI), two leading scholarship granting foundations in the green industry, are partnering to create a common application form for their respective scholarship programs. This collaboration will make it easier for students to apply for multiple scholarship programs at once and mitigate the time-consuming application process.

HRI and the Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Fund are dedicated to helping students in the horticultural industry reach their goals by providing them with financial assistance. Established in 1989, Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Fund has awarded more than $600,000 in scholarships. HRI, established in 1962, has provided scholarship and grant funding exceeding $9.5 million. Both organizations recognize the importance and value of education in horticulture and are dedicated to helping students pursue their studies.

“We are delighted to join forces with HRI on this project,” says Danny Summers, Executive Vice President of the Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Fund. “This partnership is a great example of how two nonprofits can come together to make the scholarship process easier and more accessible for students.”

“By aligning our scholarship programs in this way, we can help more students achieve their educational goals,” added Jennifer Gray, Administrator for HRI. “Our partnership allows us to make the application process easier for students and increase their chances of receiving the financial assistance they need.”

The new online application form is now available for students to fill out and submit. The deadline to apply for 2023 scholarship is June 1, 2023.

Each organization will continue to operate their programs independently in the review and granting stages. HRI will award up to 11 scholarships ranging from $500 to $4,000 to applicants who meet various scholarship criteria which includes a demonstrated commitment to pursuing a career in horticulture. Sidney B. Meadows Scholarships will award numerous scholarships of up to $2,000 each. In total, nearly $50,000 in scholarships is available.
