Greenhouse Grower to Grower Podcast: Why Blooma Farms Acquired Welby Gardens’ Former Greenhouses

Greenhouse Grower’s Grower to Grower podcast brings you real conversations with the voices driving the future of floriculture. In every episode, we connect with the growers, leaders and innovators who are shaping smarter operations, sustainable growth, and breakthrough strategies. From advanced technology and next-gen plants to business challenges and changing consumer patterns, we dig into what it really means to grow.

In October of 2025, Blooma Farms, a wholesale plant grower in Colorado, purchased five acres of greenhouses previously owned by Welby Gardens, a family operation that had been forced to close earlier in the year. I recently caught up with Jeremy Friedman, owner of Blooma Farms, to talk more about what the acquisition means for Blooma Farms and its customers, how it has expanded the company’s liner offerings, and why Blooma Farms brought on key leadership from the Welby management team.

You can listen to the episode here, or you can find it wherever you listen to podcasts. We hope you enjoy it!
