HortScholars Program Now Accepting Applications for 2018

AmericanHort is accepting applications between now and March 1, 2018, for its HortScholars program. The HortScholars program is open to any college student in a horticulture-related program.

HortScholarsHortScholars will spend seven days on-site at Cultivate’18 in Columbus, OH. During the event, they meet as a group and individually with industry professionals, attend educational sessions, and network at various social events. The experience is designed to help young horticulture students make connections for jobs and internships, while experiencing some of the more exciting aspects of the industry. Scholars receive complimentary meals, lodging, an All-Access Pass to Cultivate’18, and a complimentary one-year student membership with AmericanHort.

According to AmericanHort, the HortScholars program sets students in horticulture on a path to success by exposing them to the breadth of the horticulture industry, its opportunities, and its leaders. The program offers a beyond-the-classroom experience, giving insight and awareness of the industry, its supply chain, and where young professionals might find a home for their passion. The focus of the program is on professional development including attending education sessions, networking, and working with industry mentors.
