MPS and Certifeye Partner to Make Grower Sustainability Efforts More Visible
February 2, 2024 Over the past few months, a lot of work has gone into creating a link between MPS and Certifeye. With both organizations in attendance at IPM Essen 2024 in late January, it was a good opportunity to confirm the cooperation.
“Our joint goal is to make information available to our growers in the easiest possible way so that they can then share their own information with their customers,” says Edmund Timm, Manager Commerce, Marketing and Communication at MPS.
Both MPS and Certifeye place high value on the fact that the privacy of growers is guaranteed.
“It is extremely important to us that growers can decide for themselves who they share such information with. With our platform you can choose to share your MPS-ABC certification status with everyone, for example, or simply share a certificate or another document with one specific customer,” says Certifeye CEO Fred Vahlkamp. “So as the owner of the information, you are in control. You configure this once and then it’s sorted.”
The new link between the systems enables MPS-ABC certificates obtained by a grower to be sent to the Certifeye Wallet directly from the MPS Customer Portal. It helps avoid additional admin work for the grower, who always had to upload the necessary documents into the system manually in the past. Later this year, growers who participate in MPS-GAP and MPS-SQ will also be able to upload these certificates. With this and the future links, growers will gain even more recognition and visibility for their sustainability efforts.
In addition, configuring the privacy settings is also being made even easier: in the Wallet, the grower decides for themselves who their documents and all subsequent updates will be shared with. In this case too, once the system is set up nothing else needs to be done, putting an end to email requests for certificates and documents from customers.
In constructing the link, consideration was also given to the implications of the cooperation between the two parties.
“Data protection is an important subject in today’s world, and for us too, of course. That is why we handle our customers’ data with extreme care,” says Timm. “This subject is inextricably linked to the Certifeye software. We look forward to establishing a strong but above all secure link,” Vahlkamp adds.
The technical link has been extensively tested and optimized over the past few months with input from a pilot group of growers. Now that the system is ready behind the scenes, it can be rolled out more widely.
